What photoshop do you use? I use photoshop elements 6 and I can't find channels.

you have to use the full version of adobe photoshop. anything newer than photoshop 7 should have channels

Do you have to use blue and red ink to get this? Could it work with different colored pencils or black ink on blue pencil? And how does activating on the red make it black?

it can only work with anything blue/red/green because those are the channels on photoshop.

I finally tried this ... and then realized I'd done the colors backwards (it's been a while since I saw this tutorial).

Though, I did learn that if you draw red on yellow that you can just select green in the channels tab for easy clean up.

I really like your style, but for some reason it doesn't work in GIMP. It seems like the channels apply to the entire work and not just what you put on the paper. When you close out a channel or whatever, even the white areas change color, so your method doesn't work. I know you have photoshop, but any ideas as to how to fix it? Sorry for bothering.
