Given permission to post this on DA. Characters are Fachtna and Cillian, both are original characters of =ahohesensei
Originally I intended them to be working inside a machine shop, but somehow the interior looks like an abandoned wooden shack instead. I hope they don't mind being in there; there's AC installed, after all.
Will be done with the first commission batch, so I may be taking in new commissions. I need money to buy more markers xD;
I really like how this well composed picture turned out.
You did a splendid job in convincingly showing the collaboration between Fachtna and Cillian in working their project. The facial expressions and hand gestures say it all about the collaborative aspect.
At the same time, you did a good in conveying the characters' personality via their hands and body facial expressions. I guess the viewer can pick up the role of the right side character as the de facto head of the project and the left side character a hard working subordinate.
The shading job overall looks very good. As a person who has seen a majority of your works before, this is what I expected of your shading. You obviously have a grasp of shading in this medium. I don't see any big or glaring mistakes in shading (and if there are, they are probably too small or insignificant to greatly distract the viewer).
The color scheme looks fitting to say the least. I do like the fact that the color schemes of the right hand character (and to a some extent the left hand character) make them stand out a bit against the background. It's interesting to note that gold or goldenrod colors are reserved for the three round or dome-like objects in this picture.
And as for suggestions... I don't have a lot of them as the picture looks good as of right now. However this picture would look more exciting and interesting if those two are working under a lighting scheme where a light source is in front of them and it is only able to fully lit the characters (the background would only be barely lit). That would add a nice amount of contrast to this picture. There could be more shading in the ceiling-wall corner to add some depth or something like that in the background. I wish the free end of the scroll would go more to the left such that the machine the left hand character is working on can cover it more. That would allow the viewer to clearly see that the free end of the scroll is behind the machine. The facial expressions could have a little more emphasis, but they look reasonably fine as of right now.
As a big fan of pictures that exhibit great detail and sophistry in both the foreground and background (with great use of perspective), this is again a very impressive work.
I hope the many, many, many above words have some use for you. I really enjoyed this piece and that is why I have written so much about it.
Amazing! Love the line work and colours. The perspective of that shelf in the right corner makes it look really high. Seems too high for the characters to reach without a chair.
OMFG... *.* GLORIOUS!! I love the background FFFF!!! the coloring looks GREAT and I SO know what you mean about the markers =_=; I wanted to draw something and color it for all the new matches but there's just NO WAY I can when I have no money to rebuy colors xD and again... I wanna commission you SO BAD I need a job =_=!!! I really love the details in the background and how both characters seem to fit in that room flawlessly. Nothing looks strange or out of place like when I try to throw a bg in pictures *admires*
