post-con report, so i don't have that HI IM SITTING ON THIS TABLE AT AX journal thing up for another half year.

first off, i'd just like to thank everyone who stopped by. thanks for all the great conversations and the purchases. it was just too bad that people never really told me their username in APF or DA or LJ when they stop by my table, so i didn't really know who's who. it was great to meet more and more OP fans this year, especially people who have been buying from me for a few years. i hope i can keep you guys entertained with the stuff i draw for more years to come.

thanks to everyone who commissioned me at AX. although, i think i will retire from taking expensive commissions, because they take too much time and i didn't really have much time outside the artist alley because i want to be able to hang out with my friends too. i took $15/$25 commissions on friday ONLY and those already kept me busy until sunday. for the next convention and so on, i think i will just be taking the $5 chibi commissions. i took a lot of this on saturday and the price seemed to be more affordable for a lot of people, and it's a lot quicker to do (and fun too!). plus, apparently you can stick the chibi commisison in your badge, as some people have demonstrated.

congrats to ichnob@APForums.net who won the tablecloth auction for $120! when i was drawing the cloth, i honestly wanted to just keep it for myself unless i got like $500 offer for it, but when convention came around, meeting fans who really enjoy my stuff softened me up a bit. by the end of the first day i just wanted someone to bid on the tablecloth so that at least someone else can have it. i think $120 was a good price for both for the buyer and myself, considering the initial starting bid of $75. i'm thinking about doing another tablecloth next year, but this time with actual brush and ink instead of sharpie. and if that works well, maybe by 2011, i'll have a full color tablecloth.

the original of the enies lobby tribute poster sold for $100, which was the minimum bid. one girl bid on it she got it. i was hoping it would sell for more, but it's better than no bid at all. i think it wasn't getting too many bids because no one really goes to the art show. she did stop by my table afterwards and i took a picture with her. she was really happy with the loot, so i hope she gave the poster a nice home. it was done with ink and copic marker on 16"x24" vellum bristol board. next year i will auction some other original piece, but maybe i'll just do it at my table.

my friends from canada, and are staying over at my place for another week, so i will be busy entertaining them until then. i will sell my leftover prints online sometime after that. those who are interested, please be patient

thanks to and who stopped by my table. it came as a surprise to find out that very stylized artists such as them are also big one piece fans. i actually ninja'd *lychi on my way back from the bathroom during closing on saturday. her prints caught my attention the most of all the people on that row, so i decided to stop by her table to check out the displayed prints even though she had already left. when i was browsing through the stuff on her table, i noticed a drawing of giraffe kaku with a carrot nose. underneath the drawing, she wrote "can you guess what series this character is from?" so i grabbed my kaku postcard and left it on her table with an answer "One Piece?"

the next day she stopped by my table with ~tobiee because apparently someone told her that i was the one piece dude who left the postcard. i failed at ninja-ing people, but that is probably because i am better at being a pirate. which is good too, because i ended up coming home with a whole bunch of awesome illustrations from *lychi and ~tobiee. it was great meeting you guys! sorry if my group of friends scared the crap out of you because we're loud. xD

overall, AX this year was a blast. it was even more fun than last year. it was a pleasure to be sponsoring the games at the OP cosplay meet up too.
